The town of Arles, located in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on two counts: for the cultural asset "Arles, Roman and Romanesque monuments" and for the serial cultural asset "Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela in France".
Ideally situated on the banks of the Rhône, Arles offers magnificent panoramic views over the Camargue and the Alpilles, between sea and land!
The capital of the Camargue and situated at the gateway to the Alpilles, Arles is a vibrant, historic town, rich in colour and tradition. Its narrow cobbled streets are lined with superb two-storey town houses and private mansions. At its heart, the magnificently restored arenas come alive during traditional festivals, creating a festive and authentic atmosphere.
The Camargue Regional Nature Park, located on the Mediterranean coast, lies within the Rhône delta, mainly between its two arms. It covers three communes: part of the communes of Arles and Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, and the entire commune of Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
Situated in the heart of Provence, between the Luberon and the Camargue, this enchanting region is renowned for its exceptional landscape, natural and cultural heritage. Villages such as Les Baux-de-Provence, Eygalières, Maussane and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence are internationally renowned.
