TOURISM

The Camargue

Our hotel, ideally located in Arles, is the perfect base from which to discover the Camargue. Nestling between the Mediterranean and the Rhône delta, this vast wetland reveals landscapes sculpted by the river, the sea, the wind and the sun. A land of delicate balance, the Camargue closely combines human activity and nature conservation. To ensure its harmonious development, the Camargue Regional Nature Park has been created, and many areas benefit from protection measures, such as Natura 2000 sites, Biosphere Reserves and Marine Reserves.

Exploring the Camargue also means becoming aware of the role played by man in transforming its landscapes. A land where rice is grown and salt is extracted, the Camargue is also a land of fishing and agriculture. It's impossible to talk about the Camargue without thinking of its emblematic Camargue horses and bulls. But the area is home to many other species, including the region's most emblematic bird: the majestic pink flamingo.
